Empowered Women International is baking something good just for you! EWI is joining forces with Together We Bake for a culinary workshop and panel for any and all entrepreneurs in the food business market. Come ready with your ingredients — ingredients being any questions for our panelists, such as food laws, insurance, packaging, licenses, etc.
Kim is a coach and small business consultant in Alexandria, Virginia. She’s also a serial entrepreneur, freelance writer, and former owner of Orbit’s Downtown Eatery, a 75-seat restaurant, bar and live music venue. In her spare time she makes dog leashes and collars for her small, creative business, Dapper Jim.
Kelly Pawlik, an accidental entrepreneur, is the sole owner and employee, chef and delivery driver for City Soup, a home-based vegetarian and vegan food delivery service in Fredericksburg, VA. For the past 15 years she has co-owned, with her husband, a historic renovation and restoration-focused house painting company, Fredericksburg Painting Services where she avoids ladders, but performs accounting and administrative duties on a laptop from her kitchen table and occasionally prepares lunch for the crew. Kelly is obsessed with healthy food and spends her spare time planning and preparing meals for every excursion. She can pack a picnic cooler in five minutes flat.
An agriculture and food security professional with over 20 years’ experience in the design and implementation of projects that have introduced best practices and technologies, raised client sales and incomes, and increased investment and employment in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. Possesses in-depth knowledge of global market trends for agricultural products and supports field programs with market analyses for targeted commodities.
Dana Alfahham is the owner of Dana’s Cake Shoppe. Dana started her dream eight years ago when she took a Wilton class and soon after that she became a decorating instructor for both Wilton and PME. soon after she established Dana’s Cake Shoppe as a home business to make cakes for weddings and special occasions, and then evolved to become more professional and successful.
