Membership
EWI believes in a world in which immigrant and refugee women in the United States and around the world are treated with respect and dignity, and valued and rewarded fairly for their skills, talents and labor. We also believe in the extraordinary power of the arts as a unifying language of communication and multicultural understanding, and a vehicle of integration for newcomers.
By participating in EWI’s programs, artist members affirm that they share and support the mission and vision of the organization.
Who can be a member of EWI?
EWI’s membership is rather inclusive, and although our main focus is to create market and career opportunities for newcomers and low income immigrant women artists, EWI welcomes as members male artists, families of artists, and American-born artists and creative entrepreneurs.
EWI works with a culturally diverse community of designers, visual, performing and digital media artists.
Artist membership
Artist membership is $35/year, renewable every year. The membership fee is payable at the time when the artist joins EWI and is renewable at the beginning of each year.
Membership Benefits
- Artist benefit from free or discounted professional and career development services, business, career and market guidance, mentoring, artist portfolio review, art business connections and referrals.
- Members will be featured on EWI’s website with a link to their websites and/or online shop
- Members are invited to showcase and sell their art in EWI art exhibitions, museum events, art events, retail, corporate and house parties, and special events
- Free art biz opportunities, resources and referrals through e-newsletters and communication, EWI’s staff and volunteers
- 15 % Discount to photography services for artists by Tisara Photography. Contact Nina Tisara at ninat@tisaraphoto.com and let her know that you are an EWI member.
- 10% Discount to Marga’s private art marketing coaching and art business classes
- Discounted graphic design services through EWI artist members
Members Responsibilities
- Contribute $35/membership per year, renewable every year
- Volunteer minimum 10 hours/year on various projects and capacity – This does not include volunteer commitments for exhibiting in shows
- Promote EWI’s names and literature at your art events and shows
- Give EWI 10% from each sale made by EWI referral or redirecting a customer from our website to yours
Artist Website Feature and Link
To be featured on our website the artist has to submit the following.
- A CD, or digital file with 5 photo samples of the artwork including names, media and size of the selected artworks. The photos should be saved as JPG with a resolution of 72 DPI. The file should be mailed to Marga at cfripp@aol.com
