Rebecca enrolled in Empowered Women International’s entrepreneurship training last spring via a partner organization just months after escaping sex trafficking. On her first day, she was timid and nervous.
But Rebecca had a big, bold dream: start a bakery where girls could gain skills and the help they would need to escape the sex trade.
As Second Rising Bakery came to life, Rebecca soon discovered a family of champions among her fellow entrepreneurs, mentors, and trainers. In May, she had her first sales at a local farmers’ market. Customers fell in love with her bread and cookies — as well as her mission. And she just expanded to sell at two local cafes.
Do you remember a time when someone believed in you at a critical moment? Everyone needs that someone.
Try to imagine tackling a vision like Rebecca’s alone? Or even more profoundly, the cost of her not pursing her dream? We need your help now more than ever. There are more ambitious, passionate women who need champions to help them reach their goals.
This fall, we need champions for the next class of bold entrepreneurs. We hope to support Rebecca in our Grow My Business class this spring. If you and three others give $460, we can cover all the costs of this incredibly valuable training. Every gift—no matter how large—makes an impact.
Thank you for walking this journey of entrepreneurship with us,
