EWI Board member Howie Feinstein is currently on a book tour for his memoir Fire On the Bayou: True Tales From the Civil Rights Battlefront.The tour has allowed him to discuss the historic and ongoing struggle for civil rights with diverse audiences nationwide. This summer he was especially honored by the invitation to participate in two civil rights commemorations in Mississippi. His dedication to social justice and civil rights is incredible and he continues to advocate for dignity and equality during these changing times. Howie has two special occasions in October that we encourage you to attend.
On Thursday Oct. 2, at 1:30 pm, Howie will be teaching a class at Live and Learn Bethesda on the civil rights movement, past and present. Handout materials will be provided. Please see www.liveandlearnbethesda.org for details.
On Sunday Oct. 26 at 2:00 pm, Howie will read from and discuss his memoir at The Writer’s Center. He will be sharing the podium with Adele Levine, author of Run, Don’t Walk. This will be a be very spirited and interactive session. See www.writer.org for more details.
This fall Howie will be increasing his work with EWI. As the recipient of his royalties he believes that we are a true keeper of the flame in the contemporary campaign for dignity and empowerment for all! We thank Howie for his continued support and commitment to changing the world for the better.
