Grantsmanship Basics for Nonprofits offers a detailed look at the grants-getting process, from finding potential funders and assessing opportunities to proposal writing and budgeting, with tips to maximize success and avoid common pitfalls.
 
The session will cover:
  • Identifying good funding opportunities, both government and private
  • Doing pre-proposal groundwork and planning
  • Mastering key components of proposal narratives and budgets
  • Tips for preparing competitive proposals
  • Submitting on deadline and following up

This session is offered by Merrily Sterns, an experienced non-profit professional and Pro Bono Consultant with the Montgomery County Volunteer Center, with many years experience in securing grants for cultural and higher education institutions from a wide variety of government and private sources.
