Artists Graduation, Exhibition and Jazz – June 27, 3-6 pm

Join in on Saturday, June 27, 3-6 pm at Convergence Gallery in Alexandria, VA to support international women artists as they begin their journeys as leaders, art educators and entrepreneurs. Empowered Women International presents Burning Desires, a mixed media exhibition, an artists’ graduation reception and a musical program featuring 11 immigrant, refugee and American-born women artists, all graduates of EWI’s Art Entrepreneur Training for Success. Artists Reception and Graduation Celebration starts at 4 pm.

Exhibition runs June 4th through July 30th at Convergence, our partner organization. Free of Charge. RSVP Required


Marga Fripp at Artomatic talking about the Business of Art

Marga Fripp, Art Marketing Coach and EWI president was invited to talk about the business of art at Artomatic. Over 50 artists attended the Artomatic panel on The Art of Doing Business organized and moderated by Jody Walsh, Artist and Marketing Expert. Panelists included Elyse Harrison of the Neptune Gallery, Trudy Van Dyke: Independent Curator, Marga Fripp, Art Marketing Coach and Nancy Prager, WALA Volunteer Attorney.

After the talk I took a tour of Artomatic and I was very impressed and inspired to see so many of the artists we coached and trained being featured at Artomatic: Stephanie Bianco, Edith Graciela Sanabria, Irina Avilova, Sheldon Reiffenstein, Caren Quinn among many others.

Charlene McClelland gave our artist students an insightful talk on how to present and sell art for gift shops and retails, reviewed artist works, and provided feedback and recommendations for retail.

Thank you to both Charlene and Betty for giving our students such an extraordinary opportunity to learn first hand how to break into the arts market.
